Demo verifier

🏦 DEMO Verifier - Provided by the National Bank of Moldova

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has taken a proactive role in shaping the emerging digital identity wallet ecosystem by developing a demo verifier — a reference implementation designed to demonstrate how financial institutions can verify digital credentials issued.

Why This Matters

As the European Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet framework moves toward production readiness, relying parties — organizations that need to verify user credentials — face a steep learning curve around protocols, cryptographic proof structures, and integration patterns. The NBM recognized this gap early and invested in building practical tooling and documentation to lower the barrier to entry, starting with the financial sector but applicable far beyond it.

What the NBM Provides

The demo verifier is accompanied by comprehensive technical documentation covering the full verification pipeline. Together, they offer a concrete, working example of how to:

  • Accept and verify digital credentials
  • Validate cryptographic proofs in accordance with the expected proof structure and trust framework
  • Integrate verification flows into existing institutional systems and processes

💡 Note: While the primary target audience is the financial sector, the verifier architecture and documentation are generic enough to serve as a solid starting point for any relying party — government agencies, healthcare providers, telecom operators, or private-sector services looking to accept wallet-based credentials.
